Leo DiSanto
Bitten by the wanderlust weevil at a tender age, Leo DiSanto spent much of the first half of his adult life roaming everywhere from gypsy camps in Transylvania to the boulevards of New Orleans to the wild interior of Alaska to monasteries in the high Himalaya, where a team of smiling Sherpas graciously took turns carrying his mandolin. Whether performing concerts in music venues across the US or busking his way across Europe with only a guitar and a backpack, Leo rejoices in the privilege of being some of the noises life makes. Known for his imaginative songwriting, powerful singing voice, exciting live performances, and captivating storytelling, Leo is the founding front man of the award-winning, original Amerikindasorta string band, Vinegar Creek Constituency. He spent the post-pandemic years honing a solo act, touring the country on a seasonal migration route from the Gulf of Maine to the Gulf of Mexico in the company of a wildly enthusiastic brown dog named Ringo, playing songs for anyone who would listen (and even some who wouldn't). Released in mid-February 2025, Leo's 3rd full-length solo album, To Fly So Low, made top 25 on the Folk Alliance International Folk radio chart and was featured on No Depression's "Best of the Month" playlist.
Inspired by his musical work with terminally ill patients and a variety of social justice organizers and informed by an ever-deepening Zen Buddhist practice, Leo reentered the world of academia in 2026 to pursue a graduate degree and clinical licensure in social work, aka “the helping profession.” These days Leo lives, works, and studies in an old farmhouse on a placid stretch of the Susquehanna River known as the Conejohela Flats with his wife, their dogs, and a rotating company of rodents, toads, and hummingbirds. He writes a poetry newsletter called Conejohela Word Sanctuary (leodisanto.substack.com), and believes he has a few good books in him somewhere. Leo still writes, records, and performs music in various places and keeps a curious eye on the horizon in case a new adventure should appear unannounced on the edge of the known world.

To Fly So Low, the third full-length solo album from singer-songwriter Leo
DiSanto, will be released to all major streaming platforms in mid-February 2025.
A studio collaboration with internationally-renowned blues musician/ engineer
Bobby Gentilo and audio engineer Daniel Ramirez (The Wood Brothers), the 11
track album was conceived during/ inspired by several years of extensive
musical migrations throughout the US in a self-converted Chevy van, which
might account for the album’s recurrent themes of birds and flight. There’s a
romantic ballad invoking the great blue heron, and a song inspired by a vast
chorus of sandhill cranes who flew noisily over the van in Florida. The Devil
appears at the wheel of a Chevy Silverado; a son sends an open letter to a
father on the shadowy continent of Death; and the Grim Reaper drops in to
remind you to love your life as it truly is right now, rather than in some imagined
"then." To Fly So Low takes listeners on a dynamic musical journey, with
arrangements ranging from intimate solo performances to spare acoustic
ballads with horns or violins to full-on rockers, stompers, and swingers built
around a powerful rhythm section featuring drummer Josh Kanusky (David
Bromberg Quintet) and bassist Michael Vitale (The Recipe).
